My engine builder recommends is to remove all of the spark plugs and crank it over until you have full oil pressure. On a fresh engine it took about 30 or 40 seconds. Then put the plugs back in and fire it up. He uses plenty of assembly lube to keep it lubed while cranking to get full pressure.
