Slurm allowgroups

WebbSlurm is an open source, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable cluster management and job scheduling system for large and small Linux clusters. Slurm requires no kernel modifications for its operation and is relatively self-contained. As a cluster workload manager, Slurm has three key functions. WebbSlurm supports cgroups which allows the control of resources a job has access to. This is useful to limit the amount of memory, CPU, swap, or devices such as GPUs that a job can access. If you have no resources that requires this restriction, you may leave this feature disabled. CGroups configs are loaded from /etc/slurm/cgroup.conf.

WebbBelow are the allocation request and the slurm allocations reported to my job. The SLURM_JOB_CPUS_PER_NODE are 16,24,12 instead of the expected 24,24,12. We have also confirmed that if we try to use 60 cores, we get an error after the 52 cores are used. If no other jobs are currently running on the node I do get the full amount of cpus I asked for. Webbslurm.confis an ASCII file which describes general SLURM configuration information, the nodes to be managed, information about how those nodes are grouped into partitions, and various scheduling parameters associated with those partitions.
